About

Sammy Falk began dancing at the age of four at Main Street Dance in Hammond, Louisiana. She grew up training in technique classes during the week, and dancing at competitions and conventions on the weekends. She attended the same dance studio from the day she began dancing to the day she graduated high school, and continues to take extra classes there when she visits home. Growing up she had the opportunity to perform many different roles in the Moscow Ballet Nutcracker for a few years as a young dancer, and eventually became the Arabian in the Hammond Ballet Nutcracker in high school. She also performed in a show to raise donations for the wounded warrior project as well as the NYCDA college scholarship foundation show at the Joyce Theater in NYC. She is trained in many styles such as ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, musical theater, tap, and a few others. Her home studio owner Beth Fagan is a major influence for her dancing and taught her for 14 years. Beth Fagan is one of her biggest inspirations and role models not only as a dancer but as a person as well. She also trained in ballet under Denis Oustalet and Mary Monteleone for her entire childhood. Traveling to different conventions throughout her childhood gave her the opportunity to learn many new styles of dance and gain more experience auditioning and performing in front of judges. She was able to learn from people like Suzi Taylor, Travis Wall, and Joe Lanteri to name a few. During her summers in high school she trained at the Juilliard Summer Intensive in 2017 and 2018 under the directorship of Larry Rhodes. She currently studies at the Boston Conservatory and is working towards a BFA in contemporary dance. She was awarded the American Ballet Theater National scholarship from the ABT summer intensive when she was 11 years old. She was also awarded an NYCDA Foundation scholarship and a Boston Conservatory Artistic Achievement Award towards her college education. Sammy hopes to continue her dance career performing and traveling all over the world.
